T2: Trainspotting 2017 YIFY download HD 720p & 1080p. With Trainspotting's 20th Anniversary it seemed fitting to create a sequel for the iconic, culture defining the film. Trainspotting 2 discusses a very modern, yet somewhat nostalgic, topic of Drugs, Sex and Youth. Trainspotting was regarded as a culture defining film due to the shock and awe factor the film acquired discussing the taboo subject of drug use in youth culture. With society becoming somewhat desensitized to this subject, Danny Boyle takes a different approach and delves into the topics of not only drugs but Pornography and Social Media. Drawing parallels from scenes in the original, we see similar camera work, yet with a modern infusion, as well as an authentic script that proudly keeps true to its Scottish roots.
These two aspects are what I thought would the hardest aspect for the sequel to produce in order for it to be considered worthy as a successor. With incredible camera work of Boyle and excellent use of flashbacks, we see what's become of Mark, Spud, Sickboy and Begbie and answers questions we had left the original. The modern, yet eerily nostalgic feel Boyle introduces makes for compelling viewing. The film is a far cry from the original, however, it is an amazing display of cinematography and a guide for all other directors on how to make a convincing sequel.</div>
The first one had us see life through the eyes of a young and excited Mark Renton. And while the sequel stems off into a more ensemble format, it still gives us that same perspective, only for Renton as a depressed and unfulfilled forty-six-year-old. I don't mean that T2 isn't exciting because it really is. But there's a looming dread right from the get-go, since both we and the character now know how dire the consequences at stake are.
T2 is a really good movie. I don't want to compare it too much to the original because this is a much different film, but seeing where the characters are at this point in their life, and where they end up by the final scene is fantastic. It's funny and it's captivating, and it's exactly how a sequel should be done.
There's a lot of experimentation with camera work and perspective and inner thought throughout the movie and the way it's executed is perfect. Danny Boyle has done this sort of thing more and more as his career has gone on, and this is his most experimental yet.
The film takes a little while to focus itself. The first thirty or forty minutes are spent catching us up since the first, and while it is entertaining there's a lack of conflict, and therefore a lack of tension. And because of how joyless all of the characters have found life to be, it's difficult to be amped about what's going on. That first while is still good, but the film doesn't get great until the proper conflict is introduced.
I didn't see the first Trainspotting until a couple years ago, so I don't have the same kind of nostalgia many of the people going to see T2 might. But I still think this is a worthy sequel, and I'd have enjoyed it even if it were a stand alone piece.
While it obviously does not hold up to the undeniable brilliance of the first movie, T2 Trainspotting is still a really solid sequel with enough of its own merits and unique brilliance to make it well worth viewing. Most of the original cast return and they're all brilliant. Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle are all fantastic and slip back into their characters brilliantly. It's brilliant how all the characters have both changed yet stayed the same over the 20-year difference between the two movies. Danny Boyle returns as director and of course he does a fantastic job. Boyle is a consistently amazing director and here he continues to add his trademark style and edge to the movie. It's not as gritty as the first but I think it's appropriate as it is doing different things than the original. One of the best things about the film is the tone, the film can so brilliantly balance humor, emotion, and nostalgia. I was worried from watching the trailer that this film was gonna be pure nostalgia but it isn't, there are nostalgic elements from the original sprinkled in that work incredibly well and help add to the emotion. This film obviously does have problems but it has so many strong elements that help make the film so good. T2 Trainspotting isn't fantastic and it does have its problems but I really enjoyed this film. It's funny, it's surprisingly very moving, it has a brilliant soundtrack and it's just fantastic to see these characters again. If Danny Boyle and the cast want to make a Trainspotting 3 I will definitely be up for it. B+
